How Can We Celebrate Father’s Day?

This Sunday is Father’s Day! (There’s a little reminder for those who may need it.) It’s a special day to honor and thank fathers and father figures for all that they mean to us. I’m so grateful for my dad, Tammy’s dad, my grandfather, and other mentors in the faith that made such an impact on me. So many have gone on to be with the Lord now, but their legacy still lives on. As I now have kids and grandkids that I influence, it’s my desire that I, too, leave a legacy like they did that points to Jesus.

No matter what your earthly father is/was like, I hope you’ll be reminded this weekend of our perfect Heavenly Father and all the love that He has for you. He has chosen you (Eph. 1:4), adopted you (Eph. 1:5), and nothing can separate you from His love (Rom. 8:38-39). He is a father to the fatherless (Ps. 68:5), and that is worth celebrating!

At each Liberty campus we have a special Father’s Day planned with Dr. Dennis Swanberg bringing the message. Known as “America’s Minister of Encouragement,” I’m confident you will be uplifted as he shares. I can barely carry a conversation with him without laughing…I know he will be such a blessing to you!

Physical tickets for Freedom Fest will also be available. If you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, you can get them in-person this Sunday. The BBQ meal is $10 and all active-duty military and their immediate family members eat free. I encourage you to go ahead and get yours this week to avoid the lines closer to the event. Tickets will also continue to be available for purchase online.

Tammy and I love you and we look forward to a great weekend ahead!
