How Can I Experience the Touch of Jesus Today?

Today, we celebrate the greatest moment in human history, the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

We’ve been in a powerful series called Experience Jesus, where we’ve looked at how we encounter Jesus through our five God-given senses. We’ve talked about sight, sound, smell, and taste. And today, on this Resurrection Sunday, we’re closing the series with touch.

Let me ask you: When was the last time you felt the touch of Jesus?

Touch Is Personal

From the very beginning, the Bible is filled with powerful moments where God touches lives.

In the New Testament, Jesus’ ministry was marked by touch.

And here’s the good news: Jesus is still touching lives today.

Touch Brings Courage, Compassion, and Confession

On Easter Sunday, we remember three individuals who touched Jesus and were changed forever:

Joseph of Arimathea: The Touch of Courage

Joseph was a secret disciple, a wealthy man, and a respected member of the Sanhedrin. But when Jesus died, Joseph stepped out of the shadows and touched the body of Christ. He wrapped Jesus in linen and placed Him in his own tomb. That act took boldness. It could have cost him everything, his status, his influence, his future. But the touch of Jesus gave him courage.

Maybe today, Jesus is calling you to take a courageous step of faith.

Mary Magdalene: The Touch of Compassion and Celebration

Mary was the first to see the resurrected Jesus. Overwhelmed with joy, she clung to Him. Jesus gently told her not to hold on, because something greater was coming, He was ascending to the Father, and the Holy Spirit would come. Mary’s sorrow turned into celebration. Her story reminds us that Jesus is near to the brokenhearted.

Have you come today weeping? Jesus can turn your tears into joy.

Thomas: The Touch of Confession

Doubting Thomas missed Jesus’ first resurrection appearance. He said, “Unless I touch His hands and side, I will not believe.” When Jesus showed up again, He didn’t rebuke Thomas, He invited him to come close. And when Thomas saw Jesus, he cried out, “My Lord and my God!”

You may be filled with doubt today, but Jesus is not afraid of your questions. He welcomes you to come close.

You Can Touch Jesus Today

You might be thinking, “That’s great for Thomas, but I can’t physically touch Jesus.” But listen to what Jesus said:

“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” —John 20:29

You can still touch Jesus through:

What Happens When You Experience His Touch?

When Joseph touched Jesus, he found courage.
When Mary touched Jesus, she found compassion and joy.
When Thomas touched Jesus, he found faith and confession.

What will happen when you reach out today?

Don’t settle for just hearing about Jesus this Easter. Reach out and touch Him. He is risen. He is alive. And He is still changing lives.
