Jesus Wins

Easter is more than a holiday, it’s a headline.

Not just any headline, but the greatest breaking news in human history: Jesus wins.

Because of His death, burial, and resurrection, everything changes. And that truth is not just something we celebrate once a year, it’s something that can define your life every single day. The question is not just, “Did Jesus rise?” The question is, “Has His victory become the headline of your life?”

In 1 Corinthians 15, we find the foundation of our faith. Paul reminds us of what matters most:

“That Christ died for our sins… that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”

This is the gospel, and because of it, we see three powerful truths:

1. Jesus Wins Over Sin

We live in a world filled with bad news. But the gospel is good news. Jesus did not nearly die. He died.

Not for His mistakes, but for ours. Scripture makes it clear:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Every one of us has fallen short. Every one of us has broken God’s standard. Sin separates us from God and leaves us with guilt, shame, and death. But Jesus stepped in.

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

That means your worst mistake, your deepest regret, your hidden sin, all of it was placed on Jesus.

And when He rose from the dead, He proved that sin no longer has the final word.

Sin doesn’t define you.
Sin doesn’t control you.
Sin doesn’t condemn you.
Jesus wins.

If you’re feeling like you’ve gone too far or done too much, remember this: failure is not final. The same Jesus who restored Peter is still restoring people today.

2. Jesus Wins Over Sickness

We all feel it. This world is broken. Sickness, suffering, loss, and pain are realities we cannot escape. But they are not how God originally designed the world.

Sin brought sickness.
Sin brought death.
But Jesus came to bring life.

The resurrection reminds us that this life is not the end of the story.

“If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.”

Yes, God can heal.

Sometimes He heals immediately.
Sometimes He heals gradually.
And sometimes He heals ultimately in eternity.

But here’s the truth we hold onto: There is something God wants even more than your healing, He wants your heart.

Even in suffering, Jesus is still victorious.

Because of the resurrection, there is coming a day when:

  • There is no more cancer
  • No more pain
  • No more sorrow
  • No more death

Jesus wins, even over sickness.

3. Jesus Wins Over Satan

The resurrection is not just about forgiveness or even healing. It is also about victory. Jesus didn’t just die and rise again; He defeated the enemy.

“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.”

Satan no longer has ultimate authority.
Death no longer has the final say.

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

Because of Jesus, death is not the end, it’s a doorway.

We still grieve.
We still feel loss.
But we do not live without hope.

Jesus has turned the grave into glory. And one day, He will fully and finally defeat every enemy.

This is the message of Easter:

Jesus wins over sin.
Jesus wins over sickness.
Jesus wins over Satan.
And in Him, we win too.

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Knowing about Jesus is not enough. Knowing people who know Jesus is not enough. You must know Him personally, and when you do, everything changes.

Your past is forgiven.
Your present has purpose.
Your future is secure.

Easter is not just something to celebrate, it’s an invitation. If you don’t know Jesus, today is your moment to step onto the winning side. The greatest headline in history can become the headline of your life: Jesus wins.
