The Questions We All Ask: Finding Real Answers Through Jesus

Evangelist Scott Dawson

Every person eventually wrestles with some of life’s biggest questions.

You may not say them out loud every day, but they sit quietly in the back of your mind. They show up when life gets difficult, when tragedy strikes, or when the things you trusted suddenly disappear.

Questions like these:

  • Why is there so much evil in the world?
  • What is the meaning of life?
  • What will happen to me when I die?

The Bible does not avoid these questions. In fact, Scripture gives clear and hopeful answers to each one. When we look at the life and writings of the Apostle Paul, we see that the gospel of Jesus Christ speaks directly to the deepest questions of the human heart.

Let’s consider three truths that help us understand God’s answer to these questions.

1. Jesus Cleanses Our Past

The first truth the Bible teaches is that our greatest problem is not around us. It is within us.

Scripture says:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23

Every one of us has made choices that fall short of God’s holiness. Sin is not simply a mistake or a bad habit. Sin separates us from a holy God. The gospel begins with incredible hope. When we could not come to God, He came to us. Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the grave so that we could be forgiven and restored to God. Paul reminds us of this truth in Romans:

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8

Through Jesus, forgiveness is not partial, it is complete. When we confess our sins and turn to Him, the Bible says He forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Your past does not have to define your future. In Christ, your life can be made new.

2. Jesus Changes Our Present

Many people spend their lives searching for meaning. We chase success, relationships, security, and recognition, hoping one of those things will finally satisfy the longing in our hearts. Meaning is not found in what we achieve, it is found in who we know.

Paul explains it this way:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and see, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

When we come to Christ, we do not simply turn over a new leaf. God gives us a new life. Jesus does not just help us manage the symptoms of our struggles. He addresses the root of the problem. He brings forgiveness, transformation, and purpose. Life begins to make sense when we realize that we were created to know God and to walk in relationship with Him. Jesus did not die on the cross so that we could simply survive life, He died so that we could truly live.

3. Jesus Secures Our Future

The final question many people wrestle with is what happens after this life. Death is something none of us can avoid. The good news of the gospel is that followers of Jesus can face eternity with confidence.

Paul wrote these powerful words:

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Philippians 1:21

For those who trust Christ, this life is not the end of the story. Because Jesus rose from the grave, we have the promise of eternal life with Him. The Bible tells us that we do not have to live with uncertainty about our eternal future.

“I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
1 John 5:13

In Jesus, we find hope that goes beyond this life and into eternity.

Your Response Matters

Knowing these truths is important, but each of us must personally respond to them.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13

Salvation is not about becoming religious or trying harder to be a better person. It is about surrendering your life to Jesus and trusting what He has already done for you. If you have never placed your faith in Christ, today can be the day that changes everything. And if you have trusted Christ but have never taken the step of believer’s baptism, Scripture calls us to publicly declare our faith and follow Him in obedience.

The Invitation

Life’s biggest questions have real answers. Those answers are not found in success, achievement, or circumstances.

They are found in Jesus.

He cleanses our past.
He changes our present.
He secures our future.

And today, He invites you to follow Him.
