We meet in semesters and we have many different groups that meet in a variety of places. Some are centered around a shared interest, topical study, or stage of life, but all groups at Liberty are made up of E.S.P.N. – Encouragement, Scripture, Prayer, Next Steps.
Have you thought about leading a group but not sure how? Find out here!

Life is better in community. No matter your age, stage of life, or interests, there’s a Group for you at Liberty. Groups are a place to build friendships, grow in your faith, and do life with others throughout the week. Find a Group and get connected today.
Those interested in leading a group are asked to complete the Groups DNA training by clicking the button below. Once you finish the video (about 11 minutes long), click on the button that says, “Complete Potential Leader Application.” Your Campus Pastor or Groups Director will be in touch with you after that to schedule an interview.

If you have further questions, contact us via email: groups@libertylive.church
Groups offer people a place to Gather Together & Grow Together. It is through life together that our problems become smaller, and God uses others to bring support and encouragement to our lives. Groups become a place where others don’t just know your name, but care about what is happening in your life and want to support you in your spiritual journey. We believe every person is created with God-given potential to make a difference in the world. Groups are a place you can grow with others to become more like Jesus and reach the potential God has put inside you.
Groups meet at all different days and times during the week.
Groups meet in 3 semesters throughout the year.
Semesters provide easy start and end dates that help more people find community in different types of groups. It also gives the leader and group natural breaks built into the year. We encourage all of our groups to meet weekly during each semester to build genuine relationships.
Our Groups meet in a variety of places including homes, parks, restaurants, coffee shops, office buildings, and campuses.
If a group meets on campus, check with the local campus staff on availability of childcare. For other groups (those that meet off campus or not on Sunday morning/Wednesday night), we offer a childcare reimbursement program. Please refer to the Childcare Reimbursement Request Form for complete guidelines, which is available online at /childcarereimbursement.
We encourage people to register in between semesters, but you can do it at any time! Simply click the “Find a Group” button at the top of the page and you’ll find all the instructions of how to browse, search, request information, and register for any of our groups.
The time in between semesters is a great time for group leaders and members to attend to personal needs, some groups schedule local missions projects, and others schedule special times of fun and fellowship. Other groups continue to meet! It is also provides a clean on and off ramp for people looking to join groups or who want to try a different group.
Some people may find that after they have tried a group for a semester that it wasn’t the best fit, and that is OK! Or perhaps you want to try a different kind of group for a semester or two. We believe there is a group that will meet you where you are in your spiritual journey!
Some groups meet on campus when Liberty Kids is open, others meet off-campus and there is no childcare but you can request childcare reimbursement. It is best to contact the group leader to discuss what is available and your particular situation.
Groups usually begin with a time of fellowship, followed by a time of teaching from the Bible (live or video) and discussion, and conclude with a time of prayer and more fellowship. Though each group is unique, all groups at Liberty are made up of E.S.P.N.:
E: Encouragement – Our group leaders and members encourage each other and walk through life together. We celebrate life’s exciting times and are there for each other in hard times.
S: Scripture – Spending time in God’s Word is foundational to groups. Whether groups may gather around an activity like frisbee or outreach or sermon discussions, Scripture is always paramount.
P: Prayer – Groups pray together and pray for one another. They share their prayer requests and pray together during group as well as during the week for each other.
N: Next Steps – We want each person to take their next step of faith. That may look different for everyone depending on where they are in their journey.
Our Groups use a variety of resources but they all center around the Bible. Some Groups study a book, some use RightNow Media, some go deeper into the Sunday sermon, and some use other Bible Study curriculum.
Yes! Some Groups are more conducive to that than others, so we point people to those groups. Leaders can “close” their groups once they are full or cannot accommodate new group members.
While some of our groups are traditional Bible study groups, we have a wide variety of groups. Some are video based, some are prayer focused, and others combine Bible study and activity. But all of them are grounded on E.S.P.N. – encouragement, Scripture, prayer, and next steps!
Affinity groups are common-interest or activity groups formed around one thing that every group member shares. Examples include bicycling, knitting, softball, photography, movies, camping, books, etc.

You can do that by selecting a group you are interested in and then filling out the “Contact this Group” section on the details page for that group.
