40 Days of Prayer | Day 5

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.Ephesians 2:8-10 NKJV

God has a plan for your life. Not just generally speaking, but very specific plans for you.

God has a plan for your life. Not just generally speaking, but very specific plans for you. Plans that are different from your family and friends. Plans that He has uniquely equipped you to accomplish for His glory.

Not only does Christ save us from sin, but He saves us to new life. “4…just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life” (Rom. 6:4 NIV).

Part of being made new is our reconciliation to God. The other part is the ministry of reconciliation that He has entrusted to us. Our new life has a new purpose- sharing the Gospel with others so that they too may have new life.

Ephesians 2:10 says that God planned these works for us in advance. The Psalmist, when talking about being knit skillfully by God in his mother’s womb, said “16…all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Ps. 139:16).

God knew exactly where you’d be today. He knows the road that’s gotten you here. He knows the gifts you have, the family you have, the situations you’re in. He knew you’d be here before you were even born. He has a plan for you!

Are you accomplishing the work God has called you to do? Are you living the new life, living out the new purpose, He’s given you?

May we trust God’s continued work in our lives and walk confidently forward in the plans He has for us.

APPLICATION
– Ask God to show you if you are fulfilling all that He has planned for you to do. Praise Him that He can be trusted and that His plans are good. Commit to accomplishing, through His Spirit, the work He has called you to do.
– Remember that there is a #CircleUp connection event at each Liberty campus today. Being in a small group provides great encouragement for fulfilling all that God has called you to do and ensures that you will not be doing it alone. Commit to being in a Connect Group for the next four weeks.
– Pray again that this time of praying together would mark a significant moment in time when we as a church move forward in all that the Lord has called us to do.
