40 Days of Prayer | Day 8

GO FORWARD15 And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.” Exodus 14:15 NKJV

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV

If you were being chased and you were running straight toward the ocean, what would be going through your mind? Unless you are Michael Phelps, you would probably be thinking, “It’s over.” So often, that’s what we do in life. When we can’t see how things will work, or when they will happen, when we can’t figure out all of the details in our minds, we get discouraged. We may even give up.

What would have happened if the Israelites quit going forward? What if they would have seen the Red Sea and given up hope? They certainly would not have seen God move in such a mighty way on their behalf!

If you don’t have all the answers for what lies ahead, take heart!

If you don’t have all the answers for what lies ahead, take heart! Hear the Lord say these words to you: “8 ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the LORD. 9 ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts…’” (Is. 55:8-9 NIV).

The Israelites probably couldn’t have imagined that the Lord would part the Red Sea. Seriously, who would have? But, He did. He went beyond what they could have ever thought!

Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8). He can “do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think”! Trust Him. He will make a way. Keep moving forward!

APPLICATION
– Thank the Lord that His thoughts are higher than yours and that He is able to do beyond what you could ask or think. Pray about the questions that you have. He can handle them! Thank Him in advance for going beyond in your situations.
– Pray that the Lord would do exceedingly abundantly more than we could ask or think during this next season for our church. God has called Liberty in the next 10 years to reach Hampton Roads and beyond with the Gospel through anointed teaching of God’s word at multiple locations within a 30-minute drive of every home in Hampton Roads. Pray that He would do more than we could imagine through our existing campuses and that He would do more than we can imagine with our future campuses.
– Pray that the Lord would do exceedingly abundantly more than we could ask or think in Hampton Roads. Pray that many people would come to know Him as our church reaches out through Connect Groups, Liberty Loves Hampton Roads, and more.
